The Resource Gap in an AI-Driven Workplace
We recently ran a quick poll to get a pulse on what people are dealing with at work right now and the result that stood out most wasn’t what we expected.
The top response was lack of resources.
That’s surprising. With AI, automation, and more tools than ever available, you’d think time or competing priorities would be the biggest challenge. But instead, people are still feeling under-supported.
So what’s really going on?
“Lack of resources” today doesn’t necessarily mean companies don’t have access to tools. It often means teams don’t have the time to implement them, the training to use them effectively, or the structure to make them actually useful. Expectations rise as new technology is introduced, but the support around it doesn’t always keep up.The result is a disconnect. The tools are there, but the impact isn’t.
For employers, this is where the opportunity is. The companies pulling ahead aren’t just adopting new technology; they’re making it usable. That means investing in training, adjusting workflows, and making sure teams are actually set up to succeed, not just expected to move faster. For candidates, this is something worth paying attention to. It’s easy for companies to say they’re using the latest tools, but the real question is how those tools are integrated into the day-to-day. Access and support are not the same thing.
